MEDICINAL GARDEN

The medicinal garden is located in the lower corner of the garden. It hosts a variety of herbs and medicinal plants, some more common than others. The taller plants are placed along the outside border and the shorter ones towards the middle for accessibility and so as not to cast shade.

Medicinal plants and herbs have many uses: they can be used in cooking and for their medicinal properties, either eaten or dried and made into teas or or extracts. Many are also good for pollinators and have strong aromas that repel pests. The lemon balm, catnip, and anise hyssop grow quickly and spread out to create a dense border. The lavender and sage is planted in the back and will grow into larger shrubs.
